About the Instructor:

Charlee Shroyer learned Navajo weaving more than 25 years ago from a Navajo woman committed to keeping the art of Navajo weaving alive. In her words, the young girls were not learning to weave as in the past and she was afraid Navajo weaving would eventually become a lost art. For Shroyer, this was just the beginning of a passion of spirit and soul which would shape new beginnings for her.

Shroyer currently resides in Taos, NM where she continues to weave and paint. Her artistic path to Taos has included twenty years as a weaver of Navajo style woven pillows and rugs as well as ethnic baskets. Her textile work has been juried into prestigious American Craft Council shows in Chicago and Columbus. Her paintings are in national and international private collections.
